FAQ
Q: When and how will I be charged for the ad?
A: A PayPal invoice will be sent to you when the ad goes live. Failure to remit payment within 60 days (unless discussed) will result in prohibition of further advertisement on the site, paid or otherwise (including cover reveals). If you do not have a PayPal account, please email LGBTQReads@gmail.com to discuss an alternate payment method.
Q: What do I need to provide?
A: A graphic (Instagram grid-size graphics are perfect for the sidebar) and target link, ideally at least a week in advance of posting.
Q: What are your reader demographics?
A: I have no idea. This site does not use trackers or really anything else to keep up on readership beyond the basic stats info provided by WordPress. I can tell you the approximate daily/weekly/monthly readership and/or make a suggestion for where your money is best spent. That’s it.
Q: Then how can I target a specific demographic on your site?
A: Ah, you cannot! This site was created to embrace broad readership, and while I am grateful for advertisers, the site was unfortunately not designed with that in mind. But some great sites you can advertise on that are way more professional about advertising include The Lesbian Review and Smart Bitches, Trashy Books.
Q: What about social media followings?
A: The site’s most significant followings are on BlueSky, Tumblr, Threads, and Instagram; that’s where you can check for the most up-to-date info.
Please note: Advertisers who’ve booked dates and failed to provide ads (or payment) by the agreed-upon deadline will not be guaranteed firm advertising dates in the future.
